Manager Ian Holloway has admitted that he wanted to extend Ben Burgess contract and that he will be missed.
I wanted to keep Ben but someone offered him a two-year deal and he made that decision,' Holloway said.
We were going to offer him a deal whereby if he played he would be paid a lot more than he's getting at Notts County, but he goes with our best wishes. He played a big part.
Having a big fella up front who can keep hold of the thing is a big help.
Some of our fans didn't appreciate it and wanted him to run through and score from 40 yards. It's a shame we couldn't educate everyone in what he did do and how important he was to the team. We are going to miss him.
